 The club was originally formed in 1979 and we held our first Open Show in September 1980.

After a successful 3 years we were able to hold our first championship show in 1984 giving challenge certificates for Miniature Schnauzers, with challenge certificates following for Giant Schnauzers in 1989 and Schnauzers in 1992.

 Our aims are to promote and encourage the best interests of the Schnauzer family in the North of England - although our current membership shows that we now have members throughout England, Scotland and Wales, and our overseas membership is also growing steadily.
