The club was formed in 1979 and we held our first Open Show in September 1980.

  • 1984 - After a successful 3 years we were able to hold our first championship show.  At this Show the Kennel Club allocated 'Challenge Certificates' to Miniature Schnauzers,
  • 1989 - Kennel Club Challenge Certificates awarded to Giant Schnauzers
  • 1992 - Kennel Club Challenge Certificates awarded Schnauzers

Our aims are to promote and encourage the best interests of the Schnauzer family in the North of England - although our current membership shows that we now have members throughout the  United Kingdom; and our overseas membership is also growing steadily.

This is a club for all Schnauzer loving people.  Whether from the 'show' or 'pet' world we all have one thing in common; the health and welfare of our beloved Schnauzers.  We hold two Dog Shows a year and an annual Fun day and Barbque.  At the AGM we have a Seminar/Presentation about anything of interest to our members.

This Club and this website are for you.  The aim of the website is to be both informative and entertaining.  To this end the webmaster welcomes anything you feel is of interest; be it serious health issues or humorous dog stories and pictures.  Please send to the This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
